Laramie County, Wyo. - Cheyenne Fire Rescue and other units are deploying south to help with wildfires.
In a Wednesday afternoon social media post the Laramie County Fire Authority announced several fire crews were deploying to Texas. The post mentions they are headed to the West Texas town of Merkel, TX, which is just west of Abilene, to assist in that region.

Cheyenne Fire Rescue says their Wildland 1 unit has been deployed with other units from Laramie County as part of a Task Force to provide initial attack support.

Those addition units are listed as coming from Laramie County Fire District #10, Laramie County Fire District #1, Laramie County Fire District #3, Cheyenne Firefighters, Cheyenne Fire Rescue, as well as the Laramie County Fire Authority.

Laramie County Fire District #10 also posted a photo, saying their crew is traveling in Brush 10-4, with orders to remain to be on standby in Texas to help out.
This comes as critical fire conditions intensify in the region. Fire crews from other states are also deploying to Texas as well.
