Vedauwoo, Wyo. - According to the Albany County Fire District 1 Board Chairman Matt Burkhart, a Temporary Interim Chief for Vedauwoo Volunteer Fire Department has been appointed.
The District held a emergency special meeting Monday, April 14, where they "declared an emergency relating to the ability of a Department to provide fire suppression services to residents of the Department's area of response."
ACFD1 says in that meeting the board appointed current VVFD Lieutenant Dave Bray as Temporary Interim Chief, and while "there were firefighter resignations received, capable and qualified firefighters remain at VVFD."
The statement also says, "the District did not shut down the Vedauwoo Volunteer Fire Department or terminate any firefighters."
Thus, ACFD1 says Temporary Chief Bray will immediately work with ACFD1's partners and constituents to "restore trust and confidence in VVFD, and develop a plan that recruits qualified and dedicated firefighters."
