Casper, Wyo. - The Casper Police Department is currently investigating the shooting death of a teenager.

It happened late Wednesday night in the 4000 block of E. 8th Street.

According to a release, the Public Safety Communication Center received a 911 call for the report of a shooting around 9 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found several individuals, including a 16-year-old male who had been shot and killed inside the home.

Through the course of the investigation, police learned that everyone inside the home at the time of the shooting were all known to each other. At some point, an 18-year-old male reportedly began handing a firearm recklessly, shooting the 16-year-old.

The alleged shooter is currently in custody with formal charges pending.

Casper police officers also discovered evidence of recent drug use as well as several stolen firearms inside the home.
