A dwarf rabbit has been pictured looking after newborn chicks ahead of Easter in adorable new photos.

Skip is a one-year-old dwarf mini lop rabbit who lives at Auchingarrich Wildlife Park in Perthshire - and has recently become close with a group of chicks, born just three days ago.

The group of five chicks was pictured playing with Skip - before the rabbit decided to take a rest among some daffodils - with some of the chicks deciding to hop on his back to nestle in the soft fur.

Dwarf rabbits are highly social animals, reaching maturity at around seven months old.

They enjoy digging, kicking their feet and shaking - known as binking - and love to run around.

Skip and the chicks are part of Auchingarrich's pet handling experience, which allows children to learn how to safely care for animals, with staff describing Skip as a rabbit who "loves cuddles".
