Sterling, Colo. - A semi-truck driver and his dog have been rescued after an accident in Logan County.

It happened Tuesday morning around 10 a.m. when the semi was pulling an empty cattle pot. According to the Sterling Fire Department, the truck veered off of Highway 14 near County Road 29 and landed in the icy ditch.

Sterling Fire Department Station 1 was assisted by the Logan County Sheriff's Office, and Colorado State Patrol as they made verbal contact with the driver who was not injured. However, due to the icy and water he was unable to get out of the truck unassisted.

Emergency responders then used ladders to access the semi-truck's cab and safely remove both the driver and his dog.
