Devil's Tower Wyoming

Crook County, Wyo. - Devils Tower National Monument is issuing a clarification following an announcement of a recent time change.

As of Thursday, the park announced it would no longer be open 24 hours a day. No explanation was given as to why the change was made, but speculation was that it was linked to the National parks and monuments cuts across the county due to staffing and spending being slashed by the Trump Administration's DOGE cuts.

However, in a new post Friday morning, following a mass of questions and concerns from the public, rangers are issuing a clarification saying the change in hours are only temporary.

The post says in part, "We at the park apologize for not being more clear. The change in our hours is a temporary condition. This change will be in effect only through March 30 after which park hours will return to being open 24 hours a day."

So until the end of the month, Devils Tower National Monument will be closed at night from 5pm to 7am, but visitor center hours will remain the same from 9am to 5pm.
